Interactive app released for tablet version of Anne Frank's diary - courtesy of SmartBrief

  • Here is a great new application.  It is well worth the read.  Teachers can organize the same information themselves, but this is all there ready to use.
Students studying "The Diary of Anne Frank" can do more than read her story these days with the release of a mobile application that offers interactive links and documentary film clips about the famous Holocaust victim. The app, available from Penguin Books and developer Beyond the Story for iPad and Nook, also includes audio clips from the woman who helped the Frank family during World War II. Shalom Life

Smithsonian goes online with activities for students - courtesy of SmartBrief

The Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies has started a program to encourage research, discovery and creative collaboration with project-based learning. Called Smithsonian Quests, the online resource awards digital badges to students upon completion of their activities. The projects are aimed at students of various grade levels, and can be done as part of classroom lessons or independently. T.H.E. Journal (2/14)
